Garrulous, glib,smooth, slippery, suave,
thinking on their feet, they're fluent,
clever, quick, loquacious,
coming up with come-backs
while I, my brain a bit delayed,
may realize retorts
a day or more too late.
Sultans of the shrewd
and savvy saying.this verbal
student bows to them.
I want to be like them, be ever ready
to respond in artful manner,
exactly as they can and do
extemporaneously, the geniuses
of gabbiness, great in their own,
astounding way, wonder wits
among us lower forms of life
who evidently are not wired that way.
