People smiling as they look for gifts,
perhaps the first time all year long they've
focused on another person, looked beyond
their wants and needs. It truly is a happy
time, pine-scented, draped in tinsel,
shining lights upon the trees and in
the eyes of people who at other times
are ordinary, grumpy, self-absorbed.
