Acid Drips

Acid drips, the fumes creating toxic waste
that could burn holes in metal, razor edges
all exposed to rip the flesh of those who
venture too close, were it not the poison
of a tongue unleashed. Beneath the words
ungrateful, selfish, angry, is the root.
There's evil there, where nothing good
can grow. The soil of conversation must
be cleansed as if by fire before a living seed
can once again find nurture.
